Lisa Alpine blew my mind with the amount of knowledge she knew. Her excitement for travel writing really shined through like a beaming sun when she spoke about travel writing. The little hints she gave about writing were similar to Don George but her personality was more outgoing and she spoke with great pride about travel writing.

-Another trick she told us was when she stated with confidence, “Humor is a great juxtaposition to a story. If you can make them laugh, you can make them cry.” This was an amazing statement to me and hit me like an epiphany because making someone laugh or cry is giving them enough detail to where they experience the adventure and read the writing like they were there.
